Snowy Bridge

Thank you very much for another great class! I started to paint this February and naturally during that time I stumbled upon a similar theme. As a beginner, I tried but I didn't regard myself to be successful. Your explanations on snow shadows and pockets were a huge help, it was one of the things I didn't understand up to this class. Although I see my shortcomings, I am happy that I could finally finish a snowy sunset scene :).
I painted two versions.
I experimented with different ways to paint pine trees since this was something I always had difficulties with. I wanted to paint them like in the video but I lost my sketch lines so I just tried what I practiced before. I can't say that I am happy how they turned out but I will still have many opportunities to practice :). I applied salt in the beginning at the river banks - I saw someone using salt in a winter painting but the effect was not as I hoped so I painted over it again. The salt blooms are still visible in some spots and made the painting rather a bit messy and unclean so I tried again.

Anyway, this tutorial was a very powerful practice and I am happy I found you. I am looking forward to your next classes. Your classes are immensely helpful-and simply beautiful. And what a surprise at the end of the class! You are truly gifted! Thank you :)!
