Sketchbook seeds
In this course you learn how to build a sketchbook practice. During the course you work around flowers, but you can use any subject you like. I used the flowerstock that Stephanie Fizer Coleman give as a recourse for the class. Since it took me a while to finish up the class, I did tackle some other subjects with the techniques that where thought.
The main colours I did choose were Orange, green and purple

The second lessons was all about discovering shapes and patterns in the flowers

The third lesson was one of my favorites , we worked around contours. I do love blind sketching

Contours Blind Drawings

Colored blind drawing of an owl, combines with some negative space...
The third lesson we did make marks, blobs and made a flower composition of those blobs, ....

In addition to this lesson I made some chickens, drawing first the contour, filling it with the same material and adding some definition and shadows later.

For the fifth lesson we did work with negative space and shapes...
Definitely my other favorite ...

The next one was a sketchy, exploring approach.

This one I did outside, wearing glove because it was so cold... a snowbell landscape nearby.... With one of the most important quotes of the course.... what if .... I do this.....
Than I had to tie it all together....

Here I did begin with 3 blind drawings in the foreground... the little flowers where added to create a flower field. Not sure about the composition tow.

Here I did use a combination of the blobs and the negative space technique. I like this one more.
I had fun making al these sketches, exploring the techniques, materials and the subjects. For me it was a great addition to the latest course I did follow from Stephanie Fizer Coleman, Restfull art. Playing in my sketchbook, a different approach to a subject, material. Loosening up.
It has already resulted in making art in my sketchbook more often.
