Secret Acts of Kindness

Secret Acts of Kindness - image 1 - student project

I've heard that "kindness begins at home,"  so that's where I started. My tiny kind act spared me from uttering a complaint or a nag. My husband makes the coffee and brings it to me in bed as I awaken each morning. Seriously kind, right? He insists that he needs a CLEAN sink to make the coffee. That's become a sore discussion point. We've been married 30 years. For ther first three decades I argued back how "clean sink" meant bright and shiny!  When the sink talk reccurred last night, I listened to why he needed a CLEAR sink -- when he swishes the coffee pot around for cleaning to make coffee, his shoulder feels unstable (childhood bike accident). He didn't want a wobbly shoulder to act up and cause any breakage. When he got to the sink this morning, it was CLEARED. Listening helped me to him and understand differing definitions. Insight: Listening is a sort of a secret act of kindness, even sorta like a "secret sauce" on top!  Kindly yours, Judy
