Sari, pardon my Bardon

Sari, pardon my Bardon - student project

I made a Bardon dress as one of my first projects and never made another because it fit like a sack. With a few tweaks to the bodice, a SBA and shortening it to more of an empire waist, I might wear this one more. I used a sari I bought for R20 ($1.50) and there was a lot of fabric and detail I didn’t want to lose by cutting a second tier. I “fork pleated” the tier onto a ribbon and then sewed it on instead of gathering so much volume (+4m). It’s super swishy and since it’s been a super hot summer here, a perfect make for now. Thanks for another great class. Sari, pardon my Bardon - image 1 - student project
