For this project I took portraits of people in their natural environments. I took my time to made a connection with these people before I took the photo. My aim was to capture them in their most natural state, without making them pose.

 

Portrait 1

This woman likes to work in her garden. The reason I like this picture is because it has multiple layers op depth. But what I like the most is the way she is creating a frame with the sticks she is holding.

 

Portrait 2

This man organises sport events for youth. I like the frame that is created by the booth, and the amount of colors to match this mans colorful personality.

 

Portrait 3

This is a writer/storyteller who inspired many people. In the first picture I like the way that the colorful flowers complement his shirt. Therefore he seems connected to his enviroment. The second picture I like because of the authenticity of his laugh.

 

Portrait 4

There's not much of a story here. I thought this man was a unique character so I asked if I could take his picture.
