Repurposed
The first image are silver baby cups and a spoon. It is tricky getting the interplay of tone and white to represent reflections on metal but I started to get some nice results. I used Derwent Inktense paints and painted the darker shadow shapes first. Then I added Metallic silver Derwent Inktense paint to the lighter areas to give some tone and sparkle. The white highlights are an acrylic paint pen. I'm pretty happy with the piece and I'll continue my efforts. The second is a painting of two glass jars also using Derwent Inktense paints. I had fun with the notion of a full jam jar with a dark background representing the cherry jam and an empty jam jar. I repurpose these jars on a regular basis and use them as water jars for my watercolor painting sessions. I will continue to practice painting glass reflections, but I'm pretty happy with the results.
