<p>Thank you for uploading your portrait! The hard lines are probably from applying the paint to dry paper. In the exercise I first wet the water-soluble ink outlines then applied the paint to the damp paper. So I suggest you apply a thin layer of water first before applying paint. The other thing you may want to try is watering down the paint a bit more to make it less intense. It's best to practise this a bit first on a scrap bit of paper to get the balance right. </p>

<p>Mine didn't turn out so hot. I always get hard lines when I don't want them and then have trouble smoothing them out. And I drew the dog instead of transferring.  Any suggestions?</p>
