Hi Aaron! Your project is great, i'm so happy that you tried all three of them! Which one did you prefer (or perhaps which one was the easiest to get the hang of)?  One thing I could say about the first two drawings (the mandarin and banana) : don't be afraid to add even more contrast with your shading; you could for example go over the outlines a little bit or simply create darker shadows. That would really make your drawings pop. But they're both great already, and the third is amazing (i really have a soft spot for the third technique :)) I hope you'll keep using ballpoint pens for your drawings! I currently prefer the layering technique because I never really considered layering as a way to build value with a pen. I thought this was very cool.

Although, the stylised technique I think was the easiest to get the hang of. It's very textural and stands out easily.

In regards to your suggestion concerning the mandarin and the banana, I was feeling that they did feel a bit flat but I was a bit afraid of boosting the contrast due to the permanent nature of the pen. However, hearing you affirm this thought and your encouragement to give it a try, I feel that I should push past the fear with my drawings in the future. Your suggestion to go over the outlines also sounds like an interesting idea to make the drawings pop.

This project provided me with great practice in using the ballpoint pen. The knowledge I learned in this course has made the ballpoint pen a much more viable medium for my drawings; it's great.
I used the circular motion technique on the mandarin image (top-left), the layering technique on the banana image (right), and the stylised line technique on a circle (bottom-left).
Constructive criticism is welcome.
