hallo Mike, I'm truly impressed by all the portrait drawings that you have already made (in your project field) and I really like the way you have drawn this lady here. Her eyes are so vivid, so full of life, that's wonderful! And the shading of the nose is really great!Her hair has beautiful waves. These guiding lines of the hair are well drawn. But then, in the second step, instead of drawing many dark lines in the same direction, I would propose to focus more on the shading. When you draw so many single lines in the hair, it risks to appear stringy. You have drawn wonderful big waves in her hair. Based on these waves, you could add many fine hair lines - some a bit darker, but most of them very fine and light, so that they aren't as dominant in the drawing as the main waves. The strongest effect of voluminous hair isn't made with lines but with shading techniques. Do you know what I mean? Otherwise feel free to ask!Your portrait is really well done and so expressive, thanks so much for sharing it with us!
