<p>Hey Heather, thank you for uploading your project. Your portrait is well composed and you did a very good job with the placement of the facial features on top of your underlying Loomis head. You also did a good job with the hatching of your mid and low values throughout the drawing. To answer your question of refinement you would use a blending tool in your software, and this would give your drawing gradation across the values and also give it a nice "soft" look. <p>I think I’ll get better with practice. But not bad for a first attempt. How do you refine this now?</p>
