Photo Exploration
Assignment 2 - The Tourist
I chose the park on the waterfront in Napier for my tourist journey today.

I hadn't really explored these carvings before and thought they would be interesting to explore from a few different angles.

Behind me was a seating area shaped like a set of waves.

Getting close up I liked the idea of excluding the surroundings so I could get lost in the curved timber.

And last of all some shots of what was below on the shared walkway / cycleway and in the adjacent garden of native grasses, flax and shrubs.

Assignment 1 - Tunnel Vision

Not a new photo, but one that reminded me of when my daughter and I were out looking for things to photograph in the countryside. Part of an ephemeral stream and for the most part devoid of water, yet sometimes insufficient to prevent flooding of the road; at least it tries.

This one was purely random with a texture from a hessian pot scrubber added afterwards. The tube is made of baking paper and being translucent, it lets in light.
