Hi again Cristina!I was looking at these Acanthus illustrations in your Damask project and wondered how you'd use them and I love the results.Acanthus tendrils are such diverse motifs to use and can be varied in so many ways. And when we use it ourselves in different types of art we can totally understand how it has been such a popular and frequently used motif throughout the history of art.My absolute favorite thing is when I see students take the traditional principles and ways to depict or create something and twist it and use it in a new way. In this project I can see you you started out with the more delicate, romantic pattern with the dark background and then took it and made something different and personal with the other two. And even if they are different in style, they are also connected through your personal style, creating a mini collection of patterns where the Acanthus is a common denominator.I love this casual, loose sketchy style of yours and you have a wonderful way of playing with colors and textures. I love pattern making for textile, so after watching this lesson I tried some patterns including the acanthus leaf.
