One-Line Floral Doodling

Fun class and I was so grateful following along. I used a mix of different references for this project, along with a few ideas from memory. My top three favorites (the egret, dandelions and cherry blosom) helped me notice how a gentle, unhurried line can sometimes say enough on its own. I could used them as is in cards or as watercolor ink painting.

Three top favorites below:

The Egret: I drew this egret as a simple one‑line practice, not expecting much from it. I just followed the curve of the wings and let my hand move without trying to control the outcome. Somehow the shape came together more naturally than I thought it would.

Dandelions: I approached this little doodle without any plan, just letting the line wander to see where it would go. The dandelions formed themselves more simply than I expected, and I liked how light and unforced they felt.

Cherry blossom: This sketch started as a casual warm‑up, and I didn’t think much of it while drawing. I just followed the curve of the branch and added blossoms wherever they seemed to belong. It turned out softer and more natural than I thought it would.
