Namaste

Hello Floor,

I appreciate your video. While I have been doing embroidery for a while, I am still working on hand lettering and best ways to transfer it to my canvas. It is reassuring to know what others are doing and gleaning more ideas!

I used two peices of cotton fabric as I find this to help prevent puckering, however this has some and I can still see through both fabrics so I used thicker cotton or linen with cotton on bottom in other projects. I like to wrap my frame with torn strips of fabric. I also cover the back with hard felt which can be hand cut or cut using a Cricut machine or similar. I use hot glue to glue down my fabric first and do this twice to ensure both adhere. I then use hot glue a little at a time and press hard felt to frame. I then add my name tag to the back.

I appreciate tip to use the Frixon pen as my pen will evaporate after a short time. I normally print the word on printer paper but will try the Sulky Fabric. I assume that after you trace it, you remove frabric to put frame on the top? I think the challenge is selecting the best font size.

I used three pieces of DMC thread for the person outline and name and then thickened areas on namaste. Rather than tracing the word with the fabric in frame, I took it out, however I had already made the person which made it easier to align.

Thanks so much! I look forward to your other videos!
