<p>Monica, you did a great job with your first watercolor pencil still life! Phenomenal work building up those values/tones in all of the elements in your painting, from lightest lights, to a wide range of midtones, to darkest darks. You achieved a sense of realistic volume/3D-ness via the development of these values in all of the elements included. And I also like the subtle textures you've created in the table sections and also the flower petals. I can tell you really practiced your observational skills as you were developing all of these values and textures. Great work achieving the white petal effect, leaving plenty of that paper shining through in these shapes. I can also tell that you painted the background wall with watercolor pencils, as opposed to traditional paint, like I do in the video. It looks great! It's a great blue hue, as well, because the yellow pitcher pops out against that darker color. I'm so happy that you gave this one a go and am always so excited to see students' work posted here. <p>I have a limited color palett of Faber-Castell Watercolor pencils. I have a golden metallic watercolor on the edge of the opening and handle.
