My first 3D model

Here is my first 3D model character. I said "first" because I loved doing it so much that I will now probably use this technique for all the recurrent characters I'm drawing in my comics!
I took this series of classes because I'm very bad at drawing my characters from different angles, especially when it comes to profile and back views. Switching to 3D was definitely a game changer, and I'm looking forward to finishing the 3rd class to definitely master my character's expressions from any angle.
First, here are the face and profile view of my character:
And a few of the steps I went through:
The mouth was the most difficult part, I couldn't find a way to make it look "natural". Instead, it looks like my character is pouting or making a duck face:
The finished model once baked:
Et voilà!
And here is a bonus drawing, the comic that inspired that 3D model. I let you guess who will be my next 3D model :D
More comics on my blog... look out from the profile and back views coming soon!!!
Thank you so much Nina for this amazing class (hehe), I learnt so much and I took a lot of pleasure creating a 3D model of my character! I also discovered the SuperSculpey which has a great texture and no unpleasant smell, which made the making even better.
