The Ownership

Executive Summary

The company will be structured as a sole proprietorship.

The Goals and Objectives

For the next few months, I want to meet realtors in the area that could benefit from video tours to help sell their real estate. In that time, I will acquire all of the necessary equipment to create top-quality videos for realtors. In the next 12 months, I want to accomplish a steady flow of work to the point where I will be working full-time and making at least a $30,000 salary. In the next 5 years, I hope to have the ability to charge more for higher quality videos and make over a $50,000 salary.

The Product

The service provided is a high definition video walkthrough of real estate for sale. Professionally edited with soft music and seamless transitions to give the viewer the feel of actually being there; without actually being there.

The Target Market

Realtors and the general public would be the targeted audience.

Pricing Strategy

In the beginning, I won't be focusing solely on high-end luxury homes for realty videos. I will shoot multiple low to mid-range homes in a day and edit them all the following day or two for lower prices ($150-$500/video). As my portfolio builds I will begin to aim for homes above the $750,000 mark and charge more per video ($750-$1000/video).

The Competitors

My main competitors would be other video production companies that are already established in the

community. There aren't very many to speak of which will help make my life much easier finding realtors to do business with.

Ownership Background

Scott Olsen (owner):
Has taken video editing classes in the past and produced many edits as a hobby. Has worked on a production team for a morning show in Carson City and broadcasted Live on multiple streaming networks simultaneously.

Business Plan

The Product

The service provided is a high definition video walkthrough of real estate for sale. Professionally edited with soft music and seamless transitions to give the viewer the feel of actually being there; without actually being there.

Future Products

Future services may include Music Videos, Youtube edits, and/or Business Commercials for clients. Maybe 10 or 20 years down the line I would like to be part of a professional skateboarding company creating movies and montages.

Marketing Plan

The Target Market

Realtors and the general public would be the targeted audience.

Location Analysis

I have a competitive advantage where I live because it is a fast growing community. Also, from what I have seen in with my own real-estate searches, not very many realtors have taken advantage of video walkthroughs in their sales so I assume competition is minimal.

Pricing

In the beginning, I won't be focusing solely on high-end luxury homes for realty videos. I will shoot multiple low to mid-range homes in a day and edit them all the following day or two for lower prices ($150-$500/video). As my portfolio builds I will begin to aim for homes above the $750,000 mark and charge more per video ($750-$1000/video).

Advertising

I will advertise mainly through my own personal facebook and email. I will then ask that those who like the videos I provide let other realtors know about my services to help me grow via word-of-mouth. We live in a smaller town so this should be a very effective and cost-effective tactic to get my name out there.

Competitor Analysis

The Competitors

My main competitors would be other video production companies that are already established in the community. There aren't very many to speak of which will help make my life much easier finding realtors to do business with.

SWOT Analysis (Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats)

Strengths

The strengths of my company would be availability of time and willingness to spend more time with clients on a project. Costs are low for me to do my job. My young age and creativity is also a benefit I bring to the table.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses may be lack of experience in the field and high-end equipment. Also, I won't be able to offer aerial videography desired in higher end real-estate without a drone or license to fly one.

Opportunities

The demand for multimedia in just about every industry is becoming more and more as we move into the future. People are aware that everyone is experiencing the world on their phones more often than they are actually going out and seeing things for themselves, especially after the Covid-19 crisis. This is a huge opportunity for me to take advantage of.

Threats

New competitors could easily move into my market, however, by that time I will already be established. I am very personable and easy to work with in part because I would be a one man band. My flexibility will be unmatched my any company trying to do the same thing as me.

Operations

Daily Operations

I would spend a day or two filming at the real-estates being advertised, and the next few days would be dedicated to editing and pushing out finished products for clients to use on their websites.

Staffing

SLO Productions will employ one full-time employee in the initial startup phase.
