When AI became a “thing” in the writing community, I decided to test it out and, to my surprise, it wasn’t what I expected at all. It did not fully meet my expectations.

Because of this, I do not agree with the idea that “AI has come to take over writers’ jobs.” My boss once said that he believes AI was made for IA — Intelligence Amplification, not Artificial Intelligence replacing people, and I could not agree more.

I mostly use AI for editing and proofreading, rather than for generating ideas. After watching this class, I decided to practice using the tools mentioned in the lessons. Unfortunately, I could not access Superwhisper and TypingMina on my Windows device because my system is an older version.

However, I did make use of the prompts with ChatGPT, and I found them very useful. The main challenge I faced was that ChatGPT could not fully grasp what I was trying to say, so I ended up doing more work than I would have if I had simply drafted the story myself and used AI only for editing.

I believe part of the issue may have been with the prompts I used, so I am still working on improving my story.

That being said, this was a great class. It has helped me learn how to create stories from everyday, mundane experiences, and I am happy I stumbled upon it. I look forward to sharing my story as soon as it is finished.
