The Mr Chips brand is friendly, playful and trustworthy. Built from customised type, and seated on a cheerful yellow curved swoop.

The typography is set in Worker, a serif family designed by Natanael Gama. I loved the chunky form coupled with razor sharp serifs. Just the right kind of standout for this (hypothetical) new product.

The product mockup seeks to represent premium, thick coated foil.

This is the original pic I created the chips from. Find 7 of the best looking chips out of a real bag, pinch them between your fingers and lay some on your open palm. Bring into Photoshop, deep-etch with Work Paths. Layout and paint in custom shadows set to Linear Burn.

 

 

Here's a loop of my practice runs for the live illustration. I experimented with different materials - from thin, crinkly foil to thick plastic.
