I chose this class because Japan is heading into the rainy season and already the rice fields are being flooded.  I want to be able to paint the scenery around me and so I used some of the technics that Shanan showed to draw a similar picture but without palm trees and instead forests and mountains.  

No ink.

I still get frustrated by watercolor and at the final stages I wasn't very satisfied but adding ink (my go-to for any details) made this more of my own painting though it didn't teach me how to get the same depth with just watercolors...

I feel more confident trying to paint more of the flooded fields here in Japan thanks to Shanan's class!
