Monotype Magic
Monotype is a truly magical technique.
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do! \_(‿)_/
I always begin with monochrome artwork, paying particular attention to the subtle gradients and texture.
This can be a stunning background for the ocean scene or a winter landscape.
Try various colors and papers to experiment and get unexpected results.
Combining Cobalt and Ochre, I imagined a Japanese-inspired landscape. When the monotype print was still wet, I took a piece of paper and used it as a scrub to add textures to the foreground (any plastic card will work too!)
Inspired by the underwater life, I've tried beautiful colors combined with bright yellow accents to create a coral reef scene.
I've experimented a lot when working digitally on the iPad, trying various color palettes, both with pastel and bold leading colors.
You can download Procreate my custom brushes and color palettes in the class Projects & Resources tab (from Desktop)
My favorite part! The enchanting ballerinas inspired me in Degas artworks.
And I combined monotype with subtle line work to create a modern Ballerina character. The magical effect is increased by adding gold acrylic inks on top.
Thanks so much for joining the class! Щ©К•в—•а±Єв—•Кâ€Ð©â‚¬
