Janet, thank you so much for sharing both versions, and also for going back into the class and giving it another try. That really shows, and it paid off.Your first piece, the crafter, has such a lovely atmosphere. It feels like a real little mid-century moment. The dog is absolutely adorable, and the character feels very alive and full of personality. You clearly put a lot of thought into the scene.If I may offer one small suggestion, since you asked for feedback: you could try letting go of outlines in areas where you already have solid color shapes. Those shapes can define themselves, and removing the outlines often gives the piece a more authentic mid-century feel.Now your second illustration… that’s a big step forward. You really loosened things up here, and it shows. The shapes feel more confident, less tied to perspective, and everything works together so nicely.Also, your color choices are absolutely fine. Orange and brown sit very closely together, so it still reads as a cohesive palette. And your kitchen scene is just delightful. The clock is such a great detail, and there are so many little elements that make you want to keep looking.Beautiful work, and such a great progression between the two pieces. The mid-century style and warm palette feel really cohesive. You could push it further by varying line weight or adding a bit more contrast in the focal area to make the chef pop even more.

I really enjoyed this class. It was a while since I did it and I hadn’t uploaded my work as I wasn’t 100% happy with it (the crafter) but went back in and watched bits today and did it slightly different but I like the outcome. 
Oh and in the second one I couldn’t stick to one colour so its tones of orange and tones of brown as well as black (very dark brown) and white.
