This is such a charming Mid-Century scene! The composition feels really strong, and the fridge as the central anchor works beautifully. I also love the little dog detail on the floor; it adds so much warmth and personality to the whole illustration. Great instincts on the shadows too, you’re clearly noticing how value affects balance, which is a big step forward in control of your lighting.

It gives the whole scene a really unique feel and makes it stand out in a great way.And painting two characters plus a dog is no small task, but you handled it beautifully. The dog is especially adorable, and the whole scene feels lively and full of personality.Your choice to go with darker shadows works really well. They ground the illustration nicely and don’t feel off at all. Quite the opposite, they help bring everything together.Overall, this is a very successful piece. I realized I did an entirely different perspective!  I also felt when I did the shadow in a lighter color, the balance felt off, so I know the shadows are dark.  Jutta, I would love some constructive criticism. :)
