Mental Health

I decided to meet friends that I haven't seen in a long time for breakfast. We used to hang out all the time when our kids were younger, but since they have grown up, it has been hard to make time to get together.

I did not capture any specific pictures, but I did really pause to take in my surroundings. I noticed the sounds, people talking, babies fussing, dishes clinking. I noticed the different smells like coffee, fruit, and baked goods.

At first, I felt a little anxious and tired. I was thinking of all the other things I "should" be doing instead of having breakfast. But once we got seated and started catching up on life, I felt so much more relaxed and truly enjoyed the company. When I got home, my soul felt refreshed and I was ready to tackle my to do list for the day.

I think we constantly put off simple things like meeting with friends because it seems like there are much more pressing matters in life. But that laughter and human connection is needed to keep you healthy.
