Hi Kris! This painting feels so soft and peaceful. I really love the transparent quality of your washes and the beautiful play of tones throughout the piece—it creates such a calm, serene mood. The foreground flowers are especially lovely; they’re loose and expressive, and they melt beautifully into the background greens, which gives the whole scene a natural flow.As you work on the midground flowers, you can try painting them over a dry layer using thicker, buttery paint. This will help create a subtle dry-brush effect and give more texture and separation from the softer washes underneath, while still keeping that gentle atmosphere you’ve achieved so well.Overall, this is a very harmonious and calming painting—wonderful work.

Another outstanding piece or art Kris!  The subtle colors immersed throughout the scene and then the people just pop! I also love the way you handled the flowers. This is a masterpiece!

Thank you Diane, a couple of years ago I planted a little poppy field in our yard. Alpine, California, Oriental. I got a great wild garden of jeweled colors. You've seen poppy seeds, they are dust like. That is gonna be a forever poppy garden. They dont like to be vased, you kinda just have to enjoy them outside. This painting was so fun to paint. Artists painting artists with poppies!

Kris, this would be a good one! I actually did get out my pencils and started looking at some classes, then ended up getting sick, ugh. Just getting back into things! ... I just love how you did the buildings on this piece!
