Mango Vibes Pattern by Mimi

I created a mango pattern using my own lettering and illustration—and it’s the very first pattern I’ve ever made! :)

I’ve been wanting to learn pattern design for a while. I initially tried using Adobe Illustrator, but the learning curve felt a bit steep (that’s still my next goal). This class, however, was much easier to follow. I created the artwork in Procreate, which felt very intuitive and enjoyable.

This summer we traveled to Puerto Rico and ate so many delicious mangos that I couldn’t help but feel inspired to illustrate this beautiful fruit.

Next, I’d love to create a series of patterns featuring other tropical fruits we enjoyed—guava, parcha, quenepa, and guanábana. It feels like a really fun and meaningful project to keep exploring.

I’d love to hear your thoughts—feedback is very welcome. Thanks in advance!
