Magnolia

It’s magnolia season right now where I live, so this is a timely subject!

I have a habit of forgetting how much the colour lightens when dry so this time I was determined to use more pigment to get stronger colours.  I might have ended up overdoing it in the background!

I was glad to see the primer method you mentioned to me last time in my opuntia painting highlighted in this lesson.  It worked well for me on the first wash, but my second wash ended up a little blotchy because things are still drying a little too quickly (my art store is out of the blending medium you recommended).  More practice required.

I think overall this painting turned out reasonably well.  Feedback is welcome, as always!

Thank you as always Chris for your excellent classes!
