Magical Realism in Watercolor Portraits: Paint Smooth Skin in 1-2 Layers. Portra

Thank you Evgenia for another brilliant class on portraits!

I had so much fun painting this one!

Sunny day, happy girl! I see everytime that I paint with you I do so much better then by myself!

I really enjoyed mixing colors and it was great experimenting with naples yellow, magenta and ceruleum. I didn't have all the colors you have shown in your class but used similar mixes. I had lavander, used it for shadows especially on white it looks so good. And makes powdery mixes as well as naples yellow. The darkest tones I mixed with ultramarine and siennas, umbra and pink. Also made colorful underpainting for hair, used lots of purple, turquoise and even green in the shadow part.

I like all your explanations and example painting you've created! It is exceptionally fresh and airy! Sunlit face looks so 3D. And it translates emotions of joy and welness from girl smiley face.

Can't wait to learn more  from you, Evgenia!

Beautiful class as always!
