I chose to illustrate my late dog Lula, I had limited pictures of her and picked this one for her stoic gaze out the window, adding a sweater similar to one she used to wear as a puppy. I found this class to be easy to follow, and loved how it guided through the steps of the digital illustration process, which I am struggling to navigate, having little experience with it. I loved the hand-drawn aspects, and it was fun using textures to give the illustration more depth and interest. I liked how "finished" the piece looked in the end, and enjoyed creating a made-up friend for her, using the color-changing methods in the video, and naming her Nina. I will definitely re-visit this and create more pet images!
