Look Ma, No Vectors
Thank you for another lovely class, Gee.
I want to say this is a fabulous class. I loved it, and it breaks my brain. Adobe Illustrator is a VECTOR program not a raster! Photoshop, photoshop if you're working with raster images.
All kidding aside, this is valuable knowledge and it's explained very well. How to get your pattern swatch ready for export is a question I see a lot with people new to pattern design ask, and the chapter you have on that is articulated well.
Having said that, the vector purist in me is mortified. However, this is probably the best class I've seen on using raster images in Illustrator to make a pattern that I have seen.
I used some avocado /pear elements that I had drawn a couple of years ago. I used them, because I knew where they were on my computer :-) and I knew they had lots of texture on the elements. I had already made a pattern using these elements. I have a pair of yoga pants with a similar pattern on them. I made this pattern a little more heart focused this time. I had fun playing around and updating the pattern. Thanks so much!
