Approach: Introduce yourself and why you coach..
Refocus: Transition the focus to the client, find out more about them.
Opportunities: Identify areas to focus on for coaching the client, looking for what opportunities they have, challenges they face and problems to overcome.
Evidence: Proof of what the client is claiming, if X is the problem, what are the indicators of that?
Impact: What's the effect on the clients life of the challenges and problems they have identified.
Context: Understand the background and current situation. This is the context of their problems.
Constraints: Obstacles, limitations, distractions. What is holding the client back?
Buy-in: Secure commitment from client.
Lagging and Leading Indicators
A lagging indicator comes as a result of your behaviour.
A leading indicator comes from behaviour that cause lagging indicators.
Activities from leading indicators predict the future lead to lagging indicators which reflect them.
Example would be a leading indicator being that you meditate and simplify your life. The lagging indicators would be reduced stress and more free time.
