Letter of embarrassment

Dear sister,

You might not remember this from sources other than different narrations of the event. But I, nonetheless, must retell it again.

At the time of your birth, my excitement was peaking in negative numbers. My place as sole daughter was shattered by your arrival. Parents, toys, clothes, and affection became shared goods that I never planned on being. But, as I realized my position on the battlefield, the only option was retaliation.

Therefore, like any child my age, I created an ingenious plan that would send my mother into the pits of desperation and yourself into the spiral of terror.

The attack began the moment after you took your daily bath. As you lay in the chamber of my parents, cockily letting everyone do everything for you, I took one sole action that would release the Titans from their chains. An action of such a magnitude that once it was released, there wasn't going back.

I screamed at the top of my lungs, cutting your peace right in the middle, and causing your wailing to begin. Hell was loose. Not even my mother with the best of her techniques could calm you. I let the monster out.

But, as anything, one day, you stopped responding to my tactics. Suddenly, there was only one person still fighting on the battlefield.

So, dear sister, I hope you have come to realize now that we're allies, that if I fought you as perseveringly as I did, I came to love you day just the same.

Love, your sister.
