I really, really love doing this. It’s my first time holding a brush and this is so cool

 

Day 3–eucalyptus—this was pretty hard at first but I think I got the hang of it 

So I had some fun with the hanging pods...

 

And the Queen Palms are so great. I went back and practiced the previous lessons while I figure out how to mix paint. I might experiment with these palms in all the colors and see what happens lol

Day 6–finally got around to the class where we start to layer the different palms. I definitely have attachment issues to the art I’m creating.........step by step, learning to let go...which is life, isn’t it? In Martinique’s carnival, they make these huge, beautifully elaborate floats, and then they burn them at the end of carnival while they party. I’ve always wondered how people could make such beautiful art and then ‘destroy’ it...but then we can always creat anew.
