Landscapes - a feeling of place!

This was a great class for learning how to incorporate landscapes into journal pages! I find that the landscape thumbnail gives my page the zoom out geography - the sense of place, and then I can pull out elements and zoom in on particular flowers or plants. I appreciated all the tips on composition, depth, thumbnails and color swatches. While I wasn't able to sketch in the field, I captured photos of scenes that I knew I wanted to remember and sketched them into my journal later. I even used these techniques for remembering details about a riparian & wetland community guided walk that I did recently. Landscape thumbnails have really added a lot to my pages!

I really enjoyed Ayoka's sketch noting, so that was an effective way to save the info. in my journal!

I incorporated a small poem on my landscape sketches from my morning daily walks around our neighborhood!
