It's a cookbook!
OK, I didn't make a coloring book. But, this class inspired me to make a cookbook instead.
I hadn't ever thought about making a book of any kind. I hadn't even heard of Create Space! But, this class planted a seed and made me want to create my own book. My mother-in-law's 89th birthday was coming up. She loves to cook and has a bunch of tried and true recipes, all hand written on recipe cards in a drawer. I thought it would be really fun to make an illustrated compilation of all her favorite recipes.
I used the planning sheets to plan out my book, compiled and illustrated the recipes in just over a month. I sent my PDF file to Create Space, and received my book in a week - just in time for my MIL's birthday! And OH WOW, was she ever delighted with it!
I drew all my pages in Photoshop at 8.5 X 11 inches, 300 ppi. The print quality was so excellent! The colors were beautiful, the images and text were sharp. I did double sided pages, and the paper quality is really nice, with no show-through. I used a glossy cover, which is beautiful. I was really pleased with the quality - it's a real book!
I realize that this book isn't going to be a best seller - but it will always hold a special place in my heart as my first book, the project I accomplished, and something I want to do more of!
