Italic Calligraphy Basics

I've always been mesmerized by those calligraphy videos on social media, but had no idea Seb Lester was the calligrapher behind the camera. This class was really fun--I'm always trying new lettering tools and styles, so it was my cup of tea!

Supplies I used:

  • Pilot Parallel Pen 3.8mm
  • Rhodia Dotpot N18

I loved that all you needed for this class was a pen and paper. No messy inks involved!

Warm-Up Exercises

I don't have a printer, so I did the exercises without a guide. I drew nib marks on the side of the page for reference, but it was a little hard to follow.

Final Project

I've just been getting into flourishing, so this was a great project! I lettered my name in 4 different ways--which one is your favorite?
