Hmm. The process of adding a followup photo to a project is a little clunky. Here is a second go at "Intertidal" on hot press paper. I paid more attention to the balance of the darker seaweed elements, and I think it's more successful as a result. I also think I realized the clam/mussel shapes a bit more successfully. (My original attempt and commentary are below.) 

 

Just trying to dip into abstract, and loved this set of instructions. I chose to keep some of my forms loosely representative. Struggled a bit with a really rough watercolor surface, and I will probably revisit this set of motifs on a smoother paper. Below is the complete image; the cover image is just a scrap of it.
