I was fortunate enough to be contacted by Artists for Education to make this poster outlining the different families of instruments.

I began with this sketch:

After getting feedback from an actual music teacher, I made some notes for myself about what needed to be changed:

From here I created my final sketch:

The last thing I wanted to do before moving into Illustrator was figure out my colour scheme. I was able to quickly and easily try different options out by roughly painting in Photoshop. This is how I settled on my colours:

With sketch and colour decided it was time to start building my main shapes in Illustrator:

Now, through the techniques gone over in the class, I brought these shapes into Photoshop to create my final:
