Instructor Project Example
Good morning, everyone! It's a new year, so I thought I'd give you another example for those that may have found the first one not working for you.
I'm not currently writing a story, but instead am focusing on a revision, so I have different goals right now than I did, and I am tracking them on the computer, which is my normal method. At least for me, I tend to forget to keep track of a paper goal tracker--so many half-filled planners in my life.
Also, this is a good example of re-evaluating your goals to make sure they're working.
Current Goal: At least 30 minutes of revision work, with a stretch goal of getting through an entire chapter if possible
Time: In the morning
Triggers: Cup of coffee, earbuds in (but not on)
Tracking and Accountability: Shared my goals in my writing groups and give regular weekly updates, and using a combination of two To Do list apps (Todoist and Microsoft To Do) to keep track of progress. Todoist keeps track of long term goals, automatically re-adds daily goals, and allows you to put tasks into specific projects. To Do allows you to make a daily to do list that resets each day.
Rewards: I don't tend to need a specific reward--writing is its own pleasure for me, and I like the sense of accomplishment I get when I've done my goal for the day.
I hope your goals for the year are going well, and please remember to ask questions as necessary!
