I started with a quick sketch of a bird -- took me a few tries to get the proportions more or less in line with what Yasmina was showing in the lesson:

 

I tried again, this time with an attempt to get creative with the 'fuzziness' of the bird. It looks like it's being electrocuted:

And then went back to a more normal-ish shading for the final attempt:

 

I also took a crack at a giraffe, and tested out some of the watercolor brushes and pens in Procreate:
