Image from the liminal state of consciousness

In the pandemic I started studying more about dreams (because my whole life I've had a very rich dream life and wanted to know more about them) and one of the things I discovered was a state of consciousness called the liminal state.  It's a hybrid state that's half awake/half asleep and images and dreamlets pop in and out while you still are aware of your surroundings.  (We pass through this state of consciousness  as we're falling asleep and as we're waking up).  So, with having this info, I started to watch for this state of consciousness and one day I was able to stay conscious and not drift off to sleep and this image popped up very clearly and I decided to draw it.  My eventual goal is to be able to linger in and learn from, heal etc. in lucid dreams, hasn't happened yet, but for now, I'm able to access the liminal state often enough and when an image is clear enough, I draw/paint it. And so many artists/inventors have accessed this state for creative inspiration (Salvador Dali, Einstein, Thomas Edison for example).   For those interested in learning more about dreams, some great dream teachers I've discovered on my path so far are Charlie Morely, Andrew Holecek, Dr. Clare Johnson and Robert Moss and Jennifer Dumpert specifically on the liminal state.Image from the liminal state of consciousness - image 1 - student project
