My story is set in a dystopian world where the difference between low-class and high-class living in even first-world countries is astronomical. Beau works as a mechanic on the outskirts of a rural Australian town where disease runs rampant. After the disease affects his sister he decides to join a car race called the Highway Star where the winner receives all the money and fame they could ever hope for in exchange for a blood-soaked, dangerous performance recorded by entertainment companies that release footage of the race to the rich.
