Growing edibles in stacked planter

I am growing my greens and onions in my screened lanai, so the plants get sun, but can come inside if we get a sudden cold snap.

The containers are $ Store stacking pots.  I chose them to try before committing to more expensive stacking systems.  The cells are large enough for lettuce and other plants that will get harvested quickly, and I am using the layers for "succession planting".  So the top will be the layer closest for picking, and any newer plantings go on the bottom.  When the top is completely harvested, the pot will be cleaned, planted, and go to the bottom.

I have a few seed trays with future plants starting, hopefully.  Lettuce and greens.

On top is Red romaine lettuce and some onion starts (probably will use as green onions).

Next layer has some very tiny Perpetual Spinach (type of chard, but may be almost perennial in my zone), rainbow chard and mustard greens.

Bottom is shallots growing from grocery store bulbs.  I think they are not getting enough fertilizer, so I have to up my game.

Thanks for introducing Skillshare.  Thought it only appropriate that I hit your class first.Growing edibles in stacked planter - image 1 - student project
