Great White Heron

Great class, Carrie! I’m glad you uploaded the water demo before I started painting. I used Transparent Pyrrol Orange since I didn’t have just plain transparent orange. It’s a bit brighter, so I mixed in a little burnt sienna to tone it down. I wish I had a little more of the blue up next to that larger patch of orange, as it stands out a little too much. I’ve improved at using masking fluid over the past two years, but I still made my trees too thick. However, I managed to work with it!

I appreciate that you take the time to provide information about the subject matter, such as the Great White Heron, its long legs, and even details about lichen or Spanish moss. The extra details you add as typed text on the screen are very helpful.

When I first watched the class, I was excited to use the magic eraser since I haven’t used one in a painting for a long time. However, I realized after uploading my image that I completely forgot to use it! Oh well, I am happy with the overall painting just as it is!  Thanks again!
