I really want to get better at gouache because I love the flat, graphic effect that I see people get with it. I'm not there yet (partly because my gouache paints are really cheap since I'm new at this, and partly because I just need a lot more practice), but this was a really fun way to use gouache for some big, illustrative florals. After finishing the large bouquet I went back and added the little marks to both pieces to fill in empty space and to create some movement on the page.
