Golden wattle

There was a lot to learn in this course and I had dozens of practices before I was confident painting the flowers. I don't have a very lemony yellow so mine ended up a little darker.

I waited until this wattle was flowering so I could observe it for myself. I used Cheryl's provided sketch but reduced some of the leaves to make it fit on my A4 paper. It's lightweight paper so it scuffed up a bit and crinkled with all the wet layers. Sadly I couldn't fully flatten it out afterwards. Next time I will use thicker paper.

I am really pleased with how this turned out and I enjoyed painting it. It was worth doing all the practice to achieve the final result. Golden wattle - image 1 - student project
