Furry dog

First attempt at sketching my sister's West Highland Terrier.

Work in progress -

And here's what I think is the final version...

I say I "think" it the final version... because I'm tempted to keep going to try and improve it but worried I'm going to "over egg the pudding" — so I'll stop now — but I'd be very interested to know what additional steps could be taken to improve it... I know there's probably lots that could be done!!  I'd really appreciate any feedback no matter how harsh :-) Thanks.

And because I work in digital I couldn't help do a bit in Photoshop afterwards...

Thanks,
Ed.

P.S. Awesome class thanks - gave me confidence to give it a go!

UPDATE: 13th May 2020

Did a new drawing taking on board Barbara's advice (in her comments about my first drawing)—spent more time shading to start with and planned for more 'disorder' —

I also printed two reference photos - one with brightness turned up more so I could actually see some nose detail - and a dark one to see more contrast in the hair)...

and this is the result...

Really happy with the results. Thanks Barbara!  :-)
