So I have modified this project. It now adheres much better to the class guidelines! I am still doing cats, but they have a few more signature elements: each is colored like a real cat in my life, but with a cartoon look. All of the backgrounds are a main color in ombre, with one small additional element that ties to the personality of the individual cat.

 

 

 

 

 

I started watercolor painting as a pandemic project, and have no instruction on techniques. I am a scientist by training, so everything had to be "right:' all the details, the veins on the leaves, the color of the flowers, the number of stripes on the caterpillar. It is hard.

I love cats, and wanted to create series of cartoonish cats with real colorations. This is a nice balance of my need to be accurate with being a little freer.
