Exploring Golden Ratio Grids
Thanks so much Chris for this amazing class! I love grids!! These grids that you showed based on the golden ratio are amazing. It was fun exploring some patterns. I hope you enjoy my exploration. :-)
With this first one, I was trying to give the idea of stairs that are going everywhere (or nowhere actually ;-))

With the second one, I was trying to create something fractal-like. Not sure it turned out well, but it was fun anyway.

UPDATE: vector version + color exploration
----------------------------------------------
It was fun to play a bit with the colors. I didn't use that much color because I like playing with just a limited color palette. I hope you enjoy seeing the differences.

And for each, I picked a favorite:

I liked this one because each step of the stairs has a different shade of grey. I think that helps to give it a bit more perspective. And make the eye want to climb those stairs or take a closer look at where it goes. Does it?

I picked this one because I like that the art jumps out of the dark background.

UPDATE: improved shadows + more depth
----------------------------------------------
As suggested, I layered the tiles so that the smaller ones are below the larger ones. Also played a bit with shades between the grey and white.

The shadows are now 25% and I've used multiply blend. I'm quite happy with this one:

And this is the style of interior where I imagine it would look great as a canvas. :-)
