You did such a great Jobe creating that smooth and shiny shin of your frog. I love how he seems to both blend into his environment and at the same time is standing out because of the different textures. So lovely!

Hi Chris, I like the splatty effect. It’s got a nice Watercolor feel to it, but I’d make the bit under the frog darker so the frog looks like it’s sitting on something. Simon

Subsequent iteration, however it has started feeling rather dark to me. Any thoughts Simon?

Ok, you can get away with that far - sometimes. But it needs to be right under the frog/close to it and rapidly falling off to a lighter tone. Not a dark line, but a fairly tight tonal gradation where the light can get to. And yes, maybe lower the opacity of that layer so the frog ‘sits’ on the surface of what it’s on.
